Meet the Staff

 

Terry Claiborne, CPATerry Claiborne, CPA

My name is Terry Claiborne. I prepare corporate and individual tax returns at Betty C. Kiger, CPA.

I graduated from Wake Forest University in 1988 with a B.S. in Accountancy and received my CPA license in 1990.

From 1988 to 1998, I worked at Royster, Smith, Shelton and Pulliam, CPAs, performing audits and doing some tax work.

After taking several years off to be with my family, I started working with Betty in 2003.

Public accounting is a great profession if you love numbers and love working with people, and I do.

 


Trish BicknellTrish Bicknell

I’m Trish Bicknell. Since joining Betty C. Kiger, CPA, in 2013, I’ve worked primarily with payroll, bookkeeping and cash management.

I have a degree in accounting from Appalachian State and worked for Holly Farms before I married and stayed home to raise my four children. I kept my accounting skills sharp by handling bookkeeping for my husband’s business.

When our youngest child became a sophomore in college, I went back to work.

 

 

Marcia Scovera, Staff Accountant

Marcia Skovera 

My name is Marcia Skovera. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in accounting in 1997. 

After graduation, I worked in the Accounting Department at a Winston-Salem-based services company for seven years. I then became a stay-at-home mom for my three kids, returning to work once my youngest started school.

I've been working for Betty C. Kiger, CPA, since June 2020. As a staff accountant, I do bookkeeping, payroll and accounting work for a variety of clients. 

When you visit the office, I am the lady at the front window who is waving and giving you a thumbs-up.

 

 

Kathy Wilson, CPAKathy Wilson, CPA

I’m Kathy Wilson. I’m a senior accountant at Betty C. Kiger, CPA, working during tax season preparing tax returns for individuals, estates and trusts.

I finished a B.S. in accounting at Pfeiffer University in 1995 and have been a licensed CPA since 2002.

Before joining Betty in 2009, I worked with several area public accounting firms, helping with audits and reviews of corporations and non-profit organizations, financial statements and tax return preparation.

 

 

Lola BicknellLola Bicknell

My name is Lola Bicknell, and I've been the chief security officer at Betty C. Kiger, CPA, since October 2017.

I am responsible for greeting our clients at the front door and patrolling our offices and grounds throughout the work day, except of course, when I'm taking power naps. 

I work diligently to train everyone to pet me on command. That's what the barking is all about. Just pet me. 

Occasionally, I take a personal day when it's raining.
